The Fine Art Department of Equator College invites you to Quietly Human, an art exhibition showcasing works by Ng Zi Teng, Teh Hui Yu, and Chloe Chua. Running from 7 August to 11 September 2026 at Wu Wei Tea in George Town, Penang, the exhibition highlights personal stories, human emotions, and reflective moments through fine art. Visitors are welcome daily from 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM (closed Tuesdays).

We were delighted to recently host representatives from Hua Qiao University for a campus visit. The delegation spent time exploring our facilities and learning more about our college offerings, academic programmes, and student pathways. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Hua Qiao University for their visit and look forward to building a strong relationship ahead.

Equator College students and lecturers (Ms. Audrey and Mr. Teh) recently explored the intersection of heritage, sustainability, and modern space design during an architecture and interior design study trip. Highlights included attending ARCHIDEX to view the latest industry innovations and touring notable landmarks such as Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad and Tamarind Square.

We recently organized a successful ""World of 3D Animation"" workshop at Tenby Schools Penang, led by Mr. Jason and our dedicated student helpers. The session introduced students to the fundamentals of 3D animation—from character and environment design to storytelling—and featured an interactive character mask activity where students brought their own creative ideas to life.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting a visiting delegation from National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan at our campus. During their visit, our guests explored our college facilities and gained deeper insights into our academic programmes, student life, and future opportunities. We sincerely thank National Yunlin University of Science and Technology for visiting us and look forward to fostering strong educational connections in the future.

Equator College students gained practical financial skills during an interactive two-hour Cashflow Game session. The workshop introduced key concepts like budgeting, assets, liabilities, and decision-making, encouraging participants to think strategically about their financial future. Special thanks to JCI United Penang for facilitating this engaging experience.

Bringing hands-on creative experiences directly to students, this workshop explores the dynamic world of color and fluid motion. Led by Mr. Jeff alongside dedicated student helpers, the interactive session at SMJK Chung Ling Butterworth guided participants through fundamental marbling techniques and color mixing. Students experimented freely to transform vibrant swirls into unique, custom-patterned artwork, fostering personal expression, curiosity, and creative confidence.

Equator College recently hit the road to visit SMK Valdor, hosting an immersive "World of 3D Animation" workshop right on their school grounds. Designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of 3D modeling and animation pipelines, the workshop gave participants a taste of what it takes to build a career in the creative industry. It was a fantastic day of learning, creativity, and digital exploration. Thank you to the wonderful team and students at SMK Valdor for having us—we loved sharing our passion for animation with you!

Equator College Interior Design and Architectural Technology students recently participated in an educational visit to the Penang Night Shelter to explore how sustainable, socially responsible design supports vulnerable communities. Guided by the facility operator and project architect, students learned about the shelter’s history and operations, along with the practical challenges of adaptive reuse, spatial planning, and fire safety upgrades. The visit highlighted the vital connection between empathy, social responsibility, and the built environment.
