UCA Workshop
Equator welcomed cross-cultural design excellence during a specialized workshop with the UCA School of Fashion and Textiles. This high-profile collaborative session gave our fashion cohort a brilliant opportunity to dive into advanced garment construction and experimental material curation. The invaluable global design perspectives gained from the UCA team will directly inspire our students' upcoming creative collections and elevate their professional portfolios.
PAM MOU Signing
Partnering with Malaysia's national institute for architects reflects our deep commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards in design education. This monumental agreement will bring specialized industry insights, joint architectural seminars, and professional workshops straight to our campus, ensuring our graduates remain highly competitive.
Dato’s Art Exhibition
The founder of Equator College, Dato Chuah successfully held his highly anticipated art exhibition. The highly acclaimed showcase brought together artists, industry professionals, and students alike to celebrate his masterful collection, serving as a powerful reminder of artistic excellence for the entire Equator community.
Hung Innovation Awards 2022
Chew Jeff Yeong, Chiam Khai Chee, and Law Zhen Dong were recognized at the Hung Innovation Awards (HIA) 2022, with all three achieving Top 10 Finalist placements. Law Zhen Dong was further honored with the Best Young Fashion Designer Award, highlighting exceptional creativity and design excellence.
SRC Teambuilding (Kayaking)
Our student representatives hit the open water for an action-packed team-building day. The paddling challenge was the perfect way for our campus leaders to build trust, sharpen their communication skills, and recharge their collective energy for all our upcoming student events.
Graphic Design Workshop
Conducted by our amazing lecturers, Mr. Chun Woei and Mr. Colin, this engaging session gave students practical insights into modern visual communication and commercial art workflows, sparking fresh inspiration for their upcoming creative projects.
Fashion Workshop (Teesside University)
Our Fashion Design students participated in an immersive, hands-on creative session led by international academic professionals. The masterclass challenged our young designers to explore avant-garde garment construction and trend forecasting, aligning their skills with international runway standards.
Penang Heritage Walk
Swapping their digital sketching boards for the historic open air, our students participated in an immersive heritage walk around the Georgetown UNESCO Historic Site to study its amazing architecture up close. The site study allowed our cohorts to analyze intricate facade details and classic textures.
Mr DIY Art Competition Ceremony
Two students and two alumni from our institution were recognized for their creativity and artistic excellence at the Mr. D.I.Y. Art Competition 2022. Among our students, Lau Carmen won the Mr. D.I.Y. Young Talent Award, while Hia Pei Qin received a Special Mention Award. From our alumni cohort, Wong Joo Yee took home the Young Talent Award, and Ho Su San was honored with a Special Mention Award.
