Proud moment for our fashion design community as student Joanne (Ng Wei) takes home Winner (Individual Female Leisure Category) and alumnus Chew Jeff Yeong clinces First Runner-Up (Individual Male Category) at the 15th International Footwear Design Competition 2026!

Equator College continues to nurture award-winning talent! Discover how our Fashion Technology alumni and students stood out at the national My Footwear Design Competition (MyFDC 2026), featuring 1st Prize winner Chew Jeff Yeong and our brilliant finalists, Darshanaa and Joanne (Ng Wei).

Equator College extends its heartiest congratulations to Lee Yong Le, a Diploma in Graphic & Intermedia Design student, for securing the Special Award (SEA Region) at the HONOR Talents Global Design Awards 2026. Her brilliant entry, “Lantern Moonlight - Time of Reunion,” captures a whimsical moon rabbit concept across a series of stylish modern lifestyle essentials. We are immensely proud of Yong Le's achievements and her dedication to pushing the boundaries of contemporary design!

Preserving and celebrating heritage through art takes immense skill and vision, and capturing the top spot is a truly outstanding achievement. A massive congratulations to our talented student, Ivy Thor, for winning 1st Prize at the Usaha Tegas Heritage Art Competition 2025!

Our students achieved remarkable success at the YIIDEC 2025 Award Night, sweeping multiple major accolades. Chew Yi Ting and Ivan Lau Ee Hern both won Best Bungalow Design, while Tan Jun Yuan won Best Office & Community Design. Additionally, Loh Yu Fan and Chea Shu Min were recognized as Finalists for Bungalow Design. Congratulations to our talented designers on this fantastic achievement!

Our Interior Design alumnus, Tan Ee Wei, has been awarded an Honorary Mention at the prestigious AYDA Awards 2024/25 International Finale held in Japan. We are incredibly proud to see our graduates making waves and showcasing their creative excellence on the global stage!

Huge congratulations to our talented student, Oon Zheng Yeow, for winning the prestigious Jury Choice Award! Capturing the eyes and recognition of the industry judges is an incredible milestone, and we couldn't be prouder of your creative vision.

Tan Ee Wei received the Gold Award in Interior Design and was recognized as a Top 10 Finalist, showcasing excellence in design innovation, creativity, and professional presentation.

Ong Yue Han received the University Best Board Award at MASA x ARCHIDEX 2024 x EC for the project “Beyond Surface”, recognizing excellence in architectural presentation and design communication.

Oon Zheng Yeow and Ivy Thor were recognized at the Usaha Tegas Heritage Art Competition 2023, winning top awards in Watercolour and Drawing categories for their artistic excellence and creativity.

Huge honors go to our student Leow Yu Xuan, who emerged as the Champion in the Student Category at the AI Creative Challenge 2024 hosted by the PAM Northern Chapter. Blending cutting-edge technology with architectural vision, Yu Xuan has truly set a new benchmark for design excellence.

Our student Carmen Lye Kyle Wen achieved a fantastic milestone by advancing to the Semi-Finals in the Fashion Category at the prestigious Piala Seri Endon Batik Competition 2024. Standing out on Malaysia's premier batik platform requires immense creativity and technical skill. Well done, Carmen, on this brilliant achievement!

Leong Chee Yan and Julius Ong Xuan achieved 2nd Place at the Zaha Hadid Architecture Model Making Competition for their outstanding architectural model-making and design innovation.

Out of numerous talented participants, our student Farah Cheong has proven her digital design mastery by placing among the Top 10 Scorers at the recent Adobe Certified Professional Workshop. Earning this spot demonstrates not just creative talent, but a high-level technical proficiency in industry-standard creative tools. Incredible work, Farah—we can't wait to see how you channel these certified skills into your future design projects!

Four of our students - Tan Jun Yuan, Yeoh Wei Sheng, Edmund Chieng Xu, and Koh Zi Hong had the chance to showcase their talent during the YIIDEC 2024 Award Ceremony, each landing a win in a total of six different categories! A huge well done to them, you have made our community proud.

Ho Su San (Alumni) was awarded the Jury’s Choice Award and recognized as a Top 20 Finalist at Spotlight 2023, highlighting the creativity, quality, and impact of the presented work.

Carmen Lye Kyle Wen and Wang Ze Kai excelled at the Preloved Fashion Show & Competition, winning 1st Prize and 3rd Prize respectively for their creativity, innovation, and sustainable fashion design.

Oon Zheng Yeow, Eng Jie Shi, Ooi Sindy, and Hia Pei Qin were recognized at the Usaha Tegas Heritage Art Competition 2023, earning awards in multiple categories for their exceptional artistic talent and creative expression.

Two students and two alumni from our institution were recognized at the Mr. D.I.Y. Art Competition 2022 for their creativity and artistic excellence. Lau Carmen, a student, received the Mr. D.I.Y. Young Talent Award, while fellow student Hia Pei Qin received a Special Mention Award. Among the alumni, Wong Joo Yee was honored with the Young Talent Award, while Ho Su San received a Special Mention Award. Their achievements reflect their outstanding artistic talents and creativity, bringing pride to our institution.

Lee Jian Yu was awarded the Grand Prize Winner at the ACP Championship Malaysia 2022, recognizing outstanding skill, creativity, and excellence in competition performance.

Tan Ting You was awarded 3rd Prize in the “To A Better Future: China-Malaysia Youth Photography Competition 2022”, recognizing outstanding creativity, visual storytelling, and photographic excellence.

Tan Ting You achieved Top 5 International Winner status in the #DEMAS400KFFA Editing Contest, showcasing outstanding editing skills and creative excellence.
