At Equator College, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled responsibly and securely.

This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.

Collection of Personal Data

This Personal Data Protection Notice is issued to all our valued students / prospective students, pursuant to the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We treat and view your personal data seriously. In the course of your dealings with Equator Academy of Art & Design Sdn. Bhd. as our valued students / prospective students, we will request that you provide data and information about yourself (Personal Data) to enable us to enter into a transaction with you or to deliver the necessary notices and services.

Nature of Personal Data

Such Personal Data may be subject to applicable data protection, privacy and other similar laws and may include information concerning name, age, identity card number, passport number, address, gender, date of birth, marital status, education qualification, contact information, email address, race, ethnic origin, nationality and medical information.

Impact from failure to supply Personal Data

The failure to supply such Personal Data will:-

  1. results in us being unable to provide you with the notices and services as requested;
  2. result in us being unable to update you on our latest education updates and services.

Purpose of Collecting Personal Data

The Personal Data is collected, used and otherwise processed by us for, amongst others, the following purposes:

  1. delivering notices, services, billings and education updates to you;
  2. maintaining and improving student relationship;
  3. maintaining and updating internal record keeping; and

Through the Services

We collect Personal Information through the Services, for example, when you visit one of our sites, apply for admission, or maintain an ongoing relationship with us as a student. Data information will be collected from you during your course of study or period of enrollment with us. We collect Personal Information from you offline, such as when you complete an application for admission, fill out a form at an education or career fair, apply for a student ID card, participate in a promotion, or contact our office and branch. Equator College needs to process (that is, collect, use, store and ultimately destroy) your personal data for various academic, educational and administrative purposes. Generally, your personal data that we collect and process, includes but not restricted to: Name, Identification number (NRIC), Passport number, Address, Contact numbers, Gender, Date of birth, Previous qualification, Personal email address, Photo and images, Marital status, Emergencies contact person(s) details, Family / guardian information, bank details.

Sensitive Personal Data

Some of the personal data that we process may include what is defined as ‘sensitive personal data’ under the Act and these include, but not restricted to: Race, Religion, Health, Records of misconduct and disciplinary action, Records of criminal offence. This sensitive information shall be treated carefully by Equator and will only be used for specific purposes. It will not be released to a third party without your explicit consent unless it is necessary to protect your interests.

Provision of Information

The provision of all information requested for in the relevant forms of Equator College is mandatory, unless specified otherwise. This is to enable us to process your application and / or request for our services. Should you fail to provide the said information, Equator will be unable to process your request and / or provide you with the relevant services.
