Student Activities

The interactive session introduced students to the core fundamentals of architectural design, spatial planning, and structural thinking. Instead of just learning theory, the students took on the role of designers, participating in practical exercises that challenged them to think critically about form, function, and space. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to see how ideas on paper transform into the built environment around us.

Our students recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit AE Creativ for an immersive and insightful creative learning session. This industry visit provided students with valuable exposure to the creative media field, allowing them to learn directly from active industry professionals. During the session, students gained a deeper understanding of the meticulous processes and creative angles involved in professional product photography. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Alex, Mr. Miao Sheng, and our proud Equator College alumna, Ms. Sheue Ying—who is currently thriving as part of the AE Creativ team, for generously sharing their knowledge, experiences, and creative journeys.

Our Interior & Architecture students recently stepped outside the classroom for an immersive look into the industry at Material Forest & Buildnberg. Moving beyond aesthetics, they explored the world of engineering-oriented interior design and construction. From advanced building materials to modern home solutions, our students gained invaluable insights into how engineering, design, and high-quality materials must work hand-in-hand to create truly elevated living spaces.

Equator welcomed a masterclass in visual storytelling with the Canon Malaysia Photography Workshop. This interactive session gave our photography and multimedia cohorts direct access to top-tier Canon equipment to test out in real-time. Students spent the day capturing stunning portraits of live models while mastering the technical nuances of studio lighting control and creative angle perspectives.

Our students explored the intersection of abstract form, movement, and space during a recent visit to Tao G. Vrhovec Sambolec's Involuntary Writing exhibition. At Equator College, we believe in immersive experiences that inspire fresh artistic perspectives.

Our Interior & Architecture students recently participated in a hands-on concrete making workshop to experience the tactile side of design. Moving from theory to practice, they explored mix ratios, molding, and the structural capabilities of one of architecture’s most foundational materials—gaining crucial technical skills that will elevate their future spatial designs.

Equator welcomed bright future filmmakers during a dynamic Mobile Cinematic Workshop at SMK Westland. The session opened students' eyes to how multimedia design shapes the entertainment industry through video editing and trailer production. The highlights of the day were the practical field exercises, where students actively scouted their school grounds to practice framing creative angles and manipulation of natural lighting.

Equator welcomed next-generation creators at SMK Berapit! We conducted an immersive, interactive workshop designed to introduce students to the diverse and dynamic world of the creative arts. The session allowed participants to experiment with contemporary design concepts and discover how their imagination can be transformed into rewarding, industry-ready career paths.

As part of their Furniture Design I subject, our Interior Design students stepped out of the lecture halls and onto the active production floor of ECL for a factory tour. The experiential trip gave our young designers a first-hand look at mass-production machinery, raw material selection, and heavy-duty assembly methods, helping them bridge their conceptual sketches with real-world structural engineering.
