Weaving Tradition Into Fashion

Our Fashion Technology students traded their sewing machines for looms as they took part in a field trip to ACS Stepping Stone Work Centre. Through a day of hands-on learning, Equator students mastered Batik wax-drawing and explored the intricate world of handwoven fabrics. By understanding how cloth is created from scratch, our future designers are learning to appreciate the true value of every thread.

Cultprint Gallery For Subculture Exhibition

Our Graphic Design students recently dived into the underground world of print and visual art at the SubCulture group exhibition. Organized by the creative collective CultPrint, the showcase provided a raw look at contemporary design trends, experimental typography, and alternative print media. This visit offered our students a fresh perspective on how subcultures influence mainstream design and encouraged them to push the boundaries of their own creative projects.

Illustrating Heritage Competition: Yeoh Kongsi Site Visit

Heritage meets creativity in our latest student illustration competition. To prepare for the challenge, students conducted an in-depth site inspection of the historic Yeoh Kongsi, documenting every intricate detail from its ornate interior carvings to its majestic exterior silhouette. This immersive study served as the foundation for their entries, as students were tasked with capturing the essence of the Kongsi and reinterpreting its architectural beauty through their own unique artistic lenses.
